About Us

Dream July Foundation is a legally registered and approved Non-Governmental Organization working for underprivileged children, orphans, destitute and other vulnerable groups in society irrespective of religion, community, tribe and gender. The Foundation aims to support these individuals and communities with some of the necessities of life to make living more dignifying for the less privileged children.

With a genuine love and passion for children, the Foundation deems it fulfilling in touching the lives of the underprivileged children and putting great smiles on their faces.

Mission

To put smiles on the faces of orphans, destitute and needy pupils in deprived communities, sick children at the hospitals and juvenile prisons with compassion and provide mental and emotional support through counseling, mentorship and skills development

Vission

To ensure orphans and underprivileged children of school going age to realise their full potential through the provision of educational support and vocational skills to tertiary level.

Programs and initiatives

A piece of a cake for a smile

Is a project that creates awareness for people to remember the various orphanages during the birthdays of board members, the foundation associates and friends by donating “a piece of your cake” such as clothing, shoes, toiletries, provisions, food stuff, etc. to support these homes.

Project Smile for the Sick

This requires the donation of medical supplies to the pediatric units of public medical facilities for the provision of better health for children. Medical bills are paid by the Foundation for children who are discharged from the hospitals but whose parents cannot raise money for that purpose.

A bag for a Smile project

Needy children are always amongst us in our communities including the urban areas like Tema and Accra. Pupils who cannot afford decent school bags but rather use polythene bags or 5 kg rice bags are provided The Bag for a Smile project is in line with UN’s SDG4. By 2030 the UN believes every child deserves equal access to quality education. The Foundation believes quality education also means a child’s study materials are kept safe for easy access. These bags filled with school supplies will make these underprivileged pupils feel loved and confident to keep going to school and stay in school knowing that their homework and exercise books are safe from the rains and harsh weather conditions.

Project Smile

“Operation Smile” takes us to orphanages to donate various items to support them and also have quality time interacting with them on various issues. Our social systems are weak such that these orphanages turn to suffer in taking care of the children in their care when help does not come their way. This project also seeks to help deprived communities, renovate schools in deplorable states and get study desks for these children. The Foundation extends gestures of hope and smile to the children.

“Operation Smile for Afiase”

This project seeks to visit the various juvenile prisons and support them with items and also to happily interact them to show love and hope for them. This is done in support of transformational programs put in place by the prisons.

  • End of year party for needy children at Gbetsile in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality. 31st December 2018
  • “Piece of a cake for a Smile” birthday celebration and donation at the Amazing Sheppard Home at Seberepor in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality in January 2019
  • Piece of a cake for a Smile” birthday donation and celebration with the children at the Orthopedic Center Nsawam in the Eastern Region on 6th March 2019
  • “Operation Smile” donations at Heart of the Fathers Orphanage in Old Ningo and the Amazing Sheppard Home at Seberepor -1st May 2019
  • “Operation Smile for the Sick” donation at the Pediatric Unit of the Tema General Hospital-6th July 2019
